Rusty Shimano Hubs (c.2008)
Attempted to repair two rusty Shimano hubs.
A dynamo front (model DH-2R30) and Nexus 8-speed rear (SG-8R20).
Both needed replacement, and luckily a friend had a spare rear hub.

After cleaning and soldering, I got the dynamo hub to light!
But with live wire thru axle and hub bearing cone adujustment it was not reliable.

After reassembly of rear hub, it also worked, but not smooth enough.

The new internal assembly, with pink grease, fit into the rear wheels' hub shell.

After re-adjusting Shimano's rotary shift system, the bike is on it's way.
Here are Shimano exploded parts lists for these hubs.
