Size & Fitting

For a new bicycle, we begin fitting with standover height and length, the comfortable space between the top of bike, your pedals and handlebars. Next we pinpoint your seat height and how much to setback your seat over the pedals. Finally, we measure hand-arms-shoulder reach, by length and width, in your typical riding positions.

For custom bikes, we offer cyclists three ways to spend time: analysing, measuring and selecting. Analysis of your current and desired bike and riding style, measuring body and cycling positions, with our Fit Master sizing cycle, and selecting the ideal frame geometry and component fit.

Measurements for frames are metric, a centimeter is 0.39 inches, an inch is 2.54 centimeters. Frames are commonly sized by seat tube length. We consider top tube length equally important.

The seat and top tubes are usually measured center to center (c-c). Seat tubes are also measured center to top of seat collar (c-t). Top tubes are measured two ways: actual, by head tube center to seat tube center, and effective, by level measure, which compensates for sloping frames.
